This project is the phased re-development of the Lister Petter Engineering Works site in Dursley, Gloucestershire, which included former foundry waste tips and a gasworks.
It involved the construction of an exemplar sustainable development incorporating residential, employment and retail based facilities with associated open space, parking and landscaping whilst respecting the existing landform and ecology.
The River Cam was opened out of culvert and reinstated to create a valuable wildlife resource and recreation amenity. The Littlecombe site currently occupies approximately 39.5 ha on the floor and lower slopes of the Cam Valley.
Halcrow provided the engineering and environmental design including:
- integration of environmental and engineering designs
- support for Planning applications
- environmental Statement
- detailed geo-environmental investigation, risk assessments and Regulatory consultations
- detailed design, documentation and supervision of remediation and environmental works
