Scope

Halcrow were employed by Framework contractor Costain to design a new hardstand using PQC with fibre reinforcement to access the rig, together with upgrading the drainage system to include anti-foaming dosing and additional flow attenuation.  Design of foundations for fire training rig.  Extensive ducting was provided for control cabling, aviation fuel and LPG supplies, pneumatic and electrical services. The new B747 composite fire training rig simulates a wide variety of aircraft fires and smoke scenarios.
