The PUTRA LRT system is an advanced driverless railway system propelled by a linear induction motor. It is 30km long with 24 stations, 5km underground and 24 km on viaduct. The system is designed for a capacity of 30,000 passengers per hour per direction.

The system uses a contactless smart card fare system and has a number of stations integrated into major commercial developments or multimodal interchanges.
