Halcrow carried out the project management, preparation of the detailed designs and documentation, and construction supervision of runway resurfacing at several Royal Air Force (RAF) bases including RAF Valley, RAF Mona RAF Waddington and RAF Lakenheath. The projects included the refurbishment of aviation ground lighting.
Benefit to client
Runway restorations were completed whilst the airfields remained operational, except for planned possessions for critical elements of the work. Halcrow also acted as the client's agent for the early procurement of long-lead items of AGL equipment prior to construction starting.
