Glasgow City Council appointed a Joint Venture of Halcrow and Fairhurst in May 2003 to develop a strategy for flood management along the River Clyde.

The study investigated the effects of tidal and fluvial flooding and impact of climate change in Glasgow and assessed management options on a catchment-wide basis.

The work included detailed bathymetry survey, hydrodynamic modelling, flood mapping and a comprehensive assessment of quay wall conditions.

The output of the study is fundamnetal in supporting the regeneration of the River Clyde waterfront.
