Glasgow City Council
appointed a Joint Venture of
Halcrow and Fairhurst in May
2003 to develop a strategy for
flood management along the
River Clyde.
The study investigated the effects of tidal and fluvial flooding and impact of climate change in Glasgow and assessed management options on a catchment-wide basis.
The work included detailed
bathymetry survey,
hydrodynamic modelling, flood
mapping and a
comprehensive assessment of
quay wall conditions.
The output of the study is
fundamnetal in supporting the
regeneration of the River
Clyde waterfront.
