Halcrow are currently working with BAA to develop surface access proposals to support a planning application to enable the airport to further increase passenger throughput to 35 million passengers per annum.

The on-going work has involved:

Extensive redevelopment of the Stansted Road Traffic Model (SRTM) used for the 25 mppa application incorporating 2001 London Area Transportation Study (LATS) trip matrix data
Responsibility for landside bus, coach, rail and highway forecasts and assessments up to the granting of planning permission in 2002 for Phase 3 of airport development to 25mppa
Comprehensive data collation exercise including assembly of both local and area wide traffic count and journey time information, and bus, coach and train loading data
Assistance with planning/design of on-airport facilities, including employee and passenger parking facilities and enhancements to the terminal forecourt layout in each phase of development
