Halcrow carried out a study to determine the feasibility of acquiring and developing Virgin Gorda airport by the Government from a private owner.

This included:

• an assessment of licensing requirements
• aircraft performance
• acquisition issues
• development and upgrading options
• capital works costing
• economic and environmental assessments (including the impact on the marine environment)

The study provided a technical assessment of the risks and benefits of the potential acquisition.
