Halcrow is assisting Gwinnett County, Georgia, with the development of several water and wastewater projects, as part of a demand services agreement with the county’s Department of Water Resources. Located in metropolitan Atlanta, the department is providing potable water to a growing population in excess of 700,000.

Completed projects include:

  • Comprehensive master plan update.
  • Hydraulic modeling of the water distribution system.
  • Evaluation of low-pressure problems and capital improvement projects to accommodate peak summer and emergency conditions.
  • Assessment of measures to reduce capital expenses.
  • Evaluation of the potential for pressure reduction including analysis to determine backup power requirements at the main pumping and booster stations.
  • Analysis of a water distribution line from the new Shoal Creek water filtration plant to the Lanier water filtration plant to identify potential surge issues.
  • Gap analysis to discover deficiencies of the sanitary sewer database.
  • First phase of sanitary sewer modeling for Gwinnett County.
