Rail operations and safety

Halcrow provides operational advice to rail operators throughout Australia. This includes analysis and timetable modelling to identify system bottlenecks and quantify the benefits of infrastructure enhancements.

An example of our work in this market was the operational and train planning advice for the Parramatta to Chatswood Rail Link in Sydney.

Our safety work has included reviews of safety management systems and codes of practice, workshops for the Australian railway industry, looking at the management of signals passed at danger (SPADs) and developing measures to overcome the problem.
