N3 Clonee to Kells - Boyne bridge

The Republic of Ireland has witnessed dramatic growth over the past ten years as the “Celtic Tiger” has transformed Ireland into one of the most dynamic economies within the European Union.

However the development of infrastructure has not kept pace with the rapid rate of economic growth and this has caused an “infrastructure deficit”. This is being addressed by the Irish Government by a series of National Development Plans and other infrastructure investment plans with expenditure on infrastructure in the period 2005 – 2020 estimated as €140 Billion.

This will include expenditure on the completion of strategic highway network, public transport for Dublin including metros and trams, energy provision and the environment.

Most of Halcrow’s work in Ireland is carried out under the Halcrow Barry umbrella which is a joint venture between the Halcrow Group Ireland Limited and J B Barry and Partners, a locally based Irish Company. Each of the shareholding companies act as sub-consultants to Halcrow Barry and employ their own staff.
