Spatial analysis

We use our engineering and scientific knowledge to create and manipulate data sets for solving complex problems, often in environmental management. These data can then be used as the input to some of the powerful analytical engines Halcrow has to offer, such as river flood simulation software ISIS, and our in-house shoreline and near-shore data system software.

Our clients use the information we provide in their own work, such as engineering projects and research studies.


Buenos Aires drainage stormwater analysis

arrow Client objective Simulate local stormwater hydrology with signficant drainage infrastructure detail.
arrow Software outcome A complete urban GIS that links the terrain model with the urban fabric located there to simulate and assess flooding from storms.

MDSF (Modeling decision support framework)

arrow Client objective Use sophisticated river modeling software in tandem with a massive GIS database to predict flood impacts on property.
arrow Software outcome The tool joins ISIS river modeling to web-based GIS to allow individual river basins to be modeled. Property impacts are calcuated parcel by parcel using extensive real estate databases.
arrow Client benefit By joining accurate, mechanistic river modeling to building-level real estate data, flood impact assesments are vastly improved.
