SANDS Data Import / Export
SANDS is capable of importing and exporting data in a wide range of data formats, from time-series wave, wind or tide level records, to beach profile survey data. This section provides examples of the type of data that can be imported and exported from SANDS.
It should be noted that because SANDS is produced entirely by Halcrow, the SANDS import and export can be customised to allow other data format types to be used within SANDS that are not presently included.

Import / Export features
Wave Data Import - A range of functions are included in the wave data import facility, such as converting between Tz and Tp wave periods that are included in Met Office data, and storage of both forms of wave period.
Import Locations - It is possible to import locations from a GIS utility to select an additional attribute field to import to the historic name field.
Time-Series Data - Missing Data - All time series data can handle missing data; any value set to greater than ( >) 998 or less than (<) -998 will be flagged as missing and ignored by all analysis and graphing routines.
Time Series Data Import - Tp or Tz or Both - The Import routine will import either Tp or Tz or Both depending on the how column header is defined.
Time Series Data Export -
Tp or Tz or Both -
The SANDS Offshore wave export routine will export both Tp and Tz.
POL & BODC National Tidal & Sea Level Facility Data Import -
It is possible to import the current format POL & BODC National Tidal & Sea Level Facility data, including the Residual surge component.
